"I’m grateful for everyone who chose to come to this intensive. My need for community was manifested so completely and beautifully that I’m leaving filled with hope."
- Eileen, NYI 2006
"The first NYC intensive was such a wonderful and nurturing experience. Because it was a full week, I was able to develop deep connections with other participants, and to sink into NVC consciousness in a deep way. This left me feeling overjoyed and profoundly satisfied with the experience!"

Transportation
We encourage participants to connect with each other to pool transportation resources to get to Binghamton. As participants register for the intensive, you will be invited to join the 2007 IRT listserv where requests and offers to carpool from the airports or other locations can be made. We have found that needs for connection and community, as well as ease, can be met when people ride together.
Air: You can fly into The Greater Binghamton Airport (BGM) via Delta, Northwest, United and US Airways and their partners. The cities of Syracuse (70 miles away) and Scranton/Wilkes (65 miles away) have larger airports that may offer cheaper fares, but arrangements for car rental or ride-sharing would need to be made. If you are flying into one of the New York City airports, you can take the airport shuttle to Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan, and then take a Shortline or Greyhound bus to Binghamton. Binghamton is 3 ½ hours by bus from New York City. It may be possible to arrange a ride from New York City.
Bus: You can get to Binghamton, NY using several bus companies. Please check the following options to see if they connect Binghamton to your hometown.

Alternatively, you can use Google Maps or Mapquest to get directions to the campus (use address 4400 Vestal Parkway, Vestal, NY 13850). You can click here to view and print a map of campus (please note this is a very large (1.7 MB) file).
What to bring?
We recommend bringing a light sweater or jacket as Binghamton's climate is quite mild. The average high in July/August is 77F/25C; the average low is 58F/14C. It is likely to rain at least once during the intensive so do bring rain gear. Bring any athletic clothes or equipment (swim suits, sneakers, exercise clothe, racquets, balls) that you might need if you wish to take advantage of the numerous opportunities for fitness.
Your registration fee includes your linen rental: two sheets, two towels, one washcloth and one pillowcase. Pillows, blankets, soap and tumblers are also provided. Items are of serviceable, but not luxurious quality. Free laundry facilities are also available.
