"Discovering that within “stuckness” or an old - habitual - unsuccessful - strategy are layers of deep, beautiful needs. These needs can arise from the earth as irises rather than scratchy dandelions." Melinda, NYI 2006 |
Some feedback from past participants "... I came into the intensive a bit frightened and uncomfortable, not knowing what needs were going to be met or what strategies of mine would remain effective in this new setting. As the week progressed my fear was transformed into wonder as I witnessed NVC being used not only as a tool but as a flowing, integrated consciousness and way of being. As I became more and more aware of my own feelings, needs and strategies I became increasingly conscious of how they were accepted and provided for by the community, the Trainers and Assistants.... Looking at my needs list, I'm seeing that those listed under Connection, Honesty, Play, Peace, Physical Well-Being, Autonomy and Meaning were all met in various ways by participation in this Intensive. However, I'd like to highlight those that are particularly alive for me now: Inspiration, Acceptance, Community, Beauty, and Hope. Thank you, for your love and vision, it's contagious." - Talli, NYI 2006
"The New York Intensive was a journey into the depths of our shared humanity. I was empowered to explore with integrity long held assumptions and stereotypes in the light our interdependent aliveness. I discovered greater depths of compassion within the wellspring of my understanding." - Pastor Verne de Bourg, participant, 2004 NY IRT
"My heart is so full with the beauty of the experiences we all shared - meeting so many of my needs for connection, interdependence, and so much more - I've been saying to people: "I got 10 years worth of nourishment in 9 days!" My needs for renewal and rejuvenation are deeply met!" - Paula, NYI 2004
"A warm, supportive introduction to NVC which led to such significant changes in my life that I chose to pursue the BayNVC North American Leadership Program in 2005."
"Thanks to all of you for creating a large enough container so that my particular form of healing was allowed to unfold to be what it was. Talk about handling diversity!" - Mickey, NYI 2004, 2005
